Mother's Day Shooting...

The New Orleans Police Dept. are offering a $10,000 reward for a male who shot up a Mother's Day parade on Sunday wounding 19 people. I am failing to fathom what all the senseless violence is for. It seems as though people aren't able to enjoy festivities or events without worrying or being paranoid that something drastic will happen. What is the reason for harming people that you don't know?

Plagues of Our Generation

Today's generation is plagued with several issues. Things that are deemed as acceptable now, was never acceptable once upon a time.

Issue no. 1- social media. Social media has almost completely consumed today's society. We spend almost everyday on facebook, twitter, and instagram displaying our personal business. When the wrong information is displayed, it can cause fights, division, and it sometimes makes it difficult to get hired.

Secondly, clothing is an issue. We spend a lot of time focusing on what we're wearing, as well as what others are wearing. Most get ridiculed for not wearing the right brand. Consumerism is now all about the name.

Third, sex is an issue. Many give away their innocence entirely to early or before they are ready. This causes many unplanned teen pregnancies, an also the unexpected contraction of STD's.

Overall, I believe that peer pressure- the urge to fit in- is the biggest issue. Avoiding being labeled as an outcast is the motive for most activities that our generation takes part in. Generations have changed drastically over time, and only for the worse.

10 Year Plan

10 years from now, I'll be 28. Hopefully,I will have something going for myself, something both I and my family can be proud of. I want to be set and stable in the career of my choice, and I want to be earning a comfortable income. I hope to be in a serious relationship, and ready to start a family. Leisure wise, I want to be able to travel; I want to get to know different countries and cultures. Ultimately, I want to be a respectable adult who is responsible and ambitious.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Shrader Lawrence was born August 15, 1990 in Louisville, Kentucky. Her parents are Karen Lawrence who runs a kids camp, and Gary Lawrence who used to own a concrete and construction firm. She has two older brothers; Ben and Blaine. She attended Kammerer Middle School, and Ballard High School. She graduated from high school 2 years early with a 3.9 in order to pursue acting.

Her love for acting began when she first started acting in a local theater at 14 years old. Her parents then took her to New York City to find a talent agent. She first had a major breakout role in Debra Granik's Winter's Bone (2010) as Ree.  It landed her an Academy Award (Oscar) nomination for best actress. She then rose to fame in  2011's X-Men: First class as Mystique. What she is most famous for, however, is  her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012), based on the best selling novel by Suzanne Collins. She also won an Academy Award for best actress for her role of Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings Playbook.

She is currently working on two sequels; The Hunger Games: Catching fire, and X-men: Days of Future Past. I think that as a young actress she's already made a name for herself, and has accomplished great things already. I think she has an awesome career ahead of her.

Leisure Over Work.

I have to be honest. Writing long research papers are so boring. I much rather spend time on Facebook (although that's not too interesting any more either). The point is, I rather have fun than work. The issue though, is that work is important. If we don't learn the art of hard work, we'll develop laziness, and the worst procrastination problem. I already procrastinate a bit too much, and that's something I HAVE to work on.

The DMV.

So. I went to the DMV. I guess the lady really hated her job, considering the fact that she got really mad a one woman for asking a simple question. I don't remember what the question was exactly, but the DMV officer was really loud and quite rude. It wasn't like it was a stupid question, it was actually a very legitimate question. I mean, you get off work at 4:30. I understand that you have to work with a ton of people, but be professional. Calm down.

3 Wishes...

Wish #3...
An unlimited wardrobe. I love clothing; I adore fashion in general. So I would definitely wish for a wardrobe with unlimited possibilities. I would love to have a different combination of shoes, accessories, dresses, and etc.

Wish #2
For my family and I to have the ability to live comfortably. I don't want to be super rich, because with more money, comes a lot more...issues. I want to be able to afford, and treat myself and others (even those outside the family) when I feel the need.

Wish #1!!
Want I want most is my grandmother to go back to the healthy state that she was once in. I want for her to go back to being completely independent as she was a couple years ago. I would wish for her Parkinson's to go away and never come back.
