Jennifer Shrader Lawrence was born August 15, 1990 in Louisville, Kentucky. Her parents are Karen Lawrence who runs a kids camp, and Gary Lawrence who used to own a concrete and construction firm. She has two older brothers; Ben and Blaine. She attended Kammerer Middle School, and Ballard High School. She graduated from high school 2 years early with a 3.9 in order to pursue acting. Her love for acting began when she first started acting in a local theater at 14 years old. Her parents then took her to New York City to find a talent agent. She first had a major breakout role in Debra Granik's Winter's Bone (2010) as Ree. It landed her an Academy Award (Oscar) nomination for best actress. She then rose to fame in 2011's X-Men: First class as Mystique. What she is most famous for, however, is her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012), based on the best selling novel by Suzanne Collins. She also won an Academy Award for best actress for her role of Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings Playbook.
She is currently working on two sequels; The Hunger Games: Catching fire, and X-men: Days of Future Past. I think that as a young actress she's already made a name for herself, and has accomplished great things already. I think she has an awesome career ahead of her.
